Paneer Karahi Recipe ๐ง
- 250g paneer (cottage cheese), cubed ๐ง
- 2 tablespoons oil or ghee ๐ข๏ธ
- 1 onion, finely chopped ๐ง
- 2 tomatoes, pureed ๐
- 1 green bell pepper (capsicum), sliced ๐ถ๏ธ
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste ๐ฅ
- 1-2 green chilies, slit ๐ถ๏ธ
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds ๐ฑ
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder ๐ก
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder ๐ถ๏ธ
- 1 teaspoon garam masala ๐ฟ
- Salt to taste ๐ง
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish ๐ฟ
Heat Oil:
- In a karahi or deep pan, heat oil or ghee over medium heat. ๐ก๏ธ
Sautรฉ Spices:
- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. ๐ฑ
- Add chopped onions and sautรฉ until golden brown. ๐ง โจ
Add Ginger-Garlic Paste:
- Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. ๐ฅ
Tomato Puree:
- Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates. ๐ ๐ฅ
Add Spices:
- Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well. ๐ง๐ถ๏ธ
Add Bell Pepper:
- Add the sliced green bell pepper and cook for a few minutes until tender. ๐ถ๏ธ๐ฅ
Add Paneer:
- Gently add the paneer cubes and mix well. Cook for 5 minutes. ๐ง๐ณ
Finish with Garam Masala:
- Sprinkle garam masala and mix. Cook for another minute. ๐ฟ
Garnish:
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. ๐ฟโจ
Serve:
- Serve hot with naan or rice. Enjoy! ๐ฝ๏ธ
