Gulab Jamun Recipe 🍬

  • For the Dough:
  • 1 cup khoya (dried milk) 🥛
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida) 🌾
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda 🧂
  • 1/4 cup milk (as needed) 🥛
  • For the Sugar Syrup:
  • 1 cup sugar 🍭
  • 1 cup water 💧
  • 2-3 cardamom pods (crushed) 🌱
  • A few drops of rose water 🌹
  • For Frying:
  • Oil or ghee for frying 🛢️
    • In a pan, combine sugar, water, and crushed cardamom. 🥘
    • Boil until sugar dissolves. Add rose water and set aside. 🌹
    • In a bowl, mix khoya, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. 🥣
    • Add milk gradually until you form a soft dough. 🌟
      • Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into smooth balls (about the size of a marble). ⚪
        • In a deep pan, heat oil or ghee on medium heat. 🌡️
          • Carefully add the balls to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, stirring gently. 🍳
            • Once fried, remove the balls and place them in the warm sugar syrup. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes. 🍯
            • Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with chopped nuts if desired. 🌰✨
