Gulab Jamun Recipe 🍬
- For the Dough:
- 1 cup khoya (dried milk) 🥛
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida) 🌾
- 1/4 tsp baking soda 🧂
- 1/4 cup milk (as needed) 🥛
- For the Sugar Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar 🍭
- 1 cup water 💧
- 2-3 cardamom pods (crushed) 🌱
- A few drops of rose water 🌹
- For Frying:
- Oil or ghee for frying 🛢️
Make the Syrup:
- In a pan, combine sugar, water, and crushed cardamom. 🥘
- Boil until sugar dissolves. Add rose water and set aside. 🌹
Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, mix khoya, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. 🥣
- Add milk gradually until you form a soft dough. 🌟
Shape the Balls:
- Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into smooth balls (about the size of a marble). ⚪
Heat Oil:
- In a deep pan, heat oil or ghee on medium heat. 🌡️
Fry the Balls:
- Carefully add the balls to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, stirring gently. 🍳
Soak in Syrup:
- Once fried, remove the balls and place them in the warm sugar syrup. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes. 🍯
Serve:
- Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with chopped nuts if desired. 🌰✨
